The BEAT: Business, Education & Employment, Administration and Technology

In our unit, the members and staff are responsible for the clerical & business needs of the Clubhouse; as well as the membership process.
This unit offers members the opportunity to develop their office skills. With members learning new skills and sharing their creativity, they help keep the Clubhouse running smoothly and efficiently. Some of the work we are responsible for includes:

  • Production of the monthly newsletter, entitled "The Password" and the daily post

  • Typing, photocopying, shredding, laminating, mailing, faxing, filing, binding, etc.

  • Distribution of birthday cards

  • Creating special occasion cards

  • Ordering of supplies

  • Answering phones

  • Greeting people as they enter the clubhouse

  • Managing the coat check area

  • Payment of bills

  • Allocation of petty cash

  • Clubhouse statistics

  • Reaching out to colleagues we have not seen in awhile this may include home and hospital visits

  • Housing Support (i.e. apartment searches, completing applications for supportive housing)

  • Van transportation for members who are unable to access public transportation

  • Membership Process (i.e. scheduling tours, screening membership applications, orientation)

  • Updating website and social media

  • Photography

  • Creating slideshows

  • Video Editing and Production

  • Creating new wellness initiatives for the club
