Tammy Dilney

Tammy Dilney – Sydney, NS

Tammy Dilney, a fan of Mr. Dress Up (a long standing CBC television show for children) was inspired to enter her first art contest in Grade 3. Winning the contest, she developed a life-long love of art.  She started working with ceramics as a teenager and over the years has taken numerous courses in pottery, print making and painting.  She took a year of Art College in Nanimo, BC and has taken courses at the Centre for Craft & Design in Sydney.

To Tammy, painting involves a lot of hard work, fun, excitement and breaking the "rules and regulations" of painting. She is drawn to flowers and loves bright and cheerful colours; you won’t see any greys in her artwork!  She prefers acrylics and pastels but has worked with watercolours as well, creating many beautiful images. Channeling her feelings into her paintings, this has been a therapeutic tool for her at various times in her life.

Tammy has given some of her pieces to family and friends and has recently organized her work for a show at Free Your Mind Wellness and Creativity Festival.  The experience has inspired her to start selling her prints.
